Overview

▪It is highly recommended to update the firmware should a new firmware version become available.

Current Version

Firmware	Shows the currently installed firmware version.
Bootloader	Shows the currently installed bootloader version.

You can manually download files from the website or have the device automatically check online for any updates.

It is recommended to always use the latest firmware for your controller!

Online Update

Automatic Check

If your web browser and computer are online, they can automatically check if an online update is available and will notify you accordingly by showing the online-update icon in both, the top menu and the left menu:

Workflow

Check Now	Click to check for available online updates.
	Your web browser and computer need to have an active online connection! Please note: Only your web browser and computer have to be online in order to download the update. The STELLA 8 device itself does not need an online connection; it only needs to be connected to your web browser/computer for this to work.
	▪A confirmation dialog will be shown. ▪Cancel - Aborts the process or exits the dialog if no newer update is available. ▪Confirm - Proceeds to update the device if a newer version is available online.
	▪A new window opens and shows the installation progress: - Firmware Updates: The status LEDs of the Ports are blinking green from right to left during the upload and installation process. - Bootloader Updates: The status LEDs of the Ports are blinking yellow from right to left during the upload and installation process.
	▪Afterwards, the device will automatically disconnect and reconnect. A new window will open: ▪Confirm with Reboot System

Offline Update

Workflow

Browse File	Click to choose the firmware file to upload. ▪Supported file formats are .fwx [Firmware or Bootloader] as well as .ebin [Firmware] and *.ubin [Bootloader]. ▪New firmware files can be downloaded from https://www.madrix.com/support/download
	Alternatively, use drag and drop with your mouse to place the firmware file directly on the field.

	▪A confirmation dialog will be shown. ▪Make sure to upload the correct file! ▪Create Backup - It is recommended to have a backup of the controller's current settings before proceeding. Click to create and download a backup file now. ▪Install Firmware - Confirm in order to proceed.
	▪A new window opens and shows the installation progress: - Firmware Updates: The status LEDs of the Ports are blinking green from right to left during the upload and installation process. - Bootloader Updates: The status LEDs of the Ports are blinking yellow from right to left during the upload and installation process.
	▪Afterwards, the device will automatically disconnect and reconnect. A new window will open: ▪Confirm with Reboot System
